TOLLESBURY PRENTICE HALL LANE TL 9410-9510 (west side) 8/32 (12/155) Prentice Hall Farmhouse 31.3.78 - II
House. Early C17, extended in C20. Timber framed, weatherboarded and plastered, roofed with handmade red clay tiles. 3 bays facing E with central stack, forming a lobby-entrance. C20 extension to rear of left end. 2 storeys and attics. 2-window range of C20 casements. Half-glazed door at front of C20 lean-to porch. Stack with moulded base, rebuilt above in C20. Evidence of blocked large first-floor window over door. Jowled posts. Chamfered axial beams with lamb's tongue stops and plain joists of vertical section at both floors. Left ground floor hearth re-lined in C20. Large wood-burning hearth to right, 0.33 metre brickwork with minor alterations.
