GV II

Monument to King George IV. Circa 1830. Grey sandstone ashlar.

In a Gothic revival style. Square plan. Pedestal with quatrefoils to each face, and frieze and cornice, second stage with quatrefoils to each face, claw feet and crocketed Gothic arches above, and pierced top stage surmounted by a bust, presumably of the King. Information supplied by occupant of Astley House (q.v.) at time of survey (January 1987).
