TQ 35NE CATERHAM & WARLINGHAM WOLDINGHAM ROAD, (west side) FORMER URBAN DISTRICT WARLINGHAM 3/47 Coal Tax post at NGR TQ 354570 II

Coal tax post, c1861. Metal c4 foot high. Four legged plinth with chamfered pier moulded capital band above and pyramidal top. City of London Shield cast on front with lettering on the pier below reading "24 & 25 VICT/CAP 42". A Coal and Wine tax post indicating the boundary at which duty was payable, that on coal dating back to the 1660's.
