SD3618NW BOTANIC ROAD, Churchtown 664-1/6/236 (North side) 15/11/72 Stable and Coach House to rear of Bold Arms Hotel

GV II

Stable and coach house range, now beer store. Probably early C19; altered. White painted render on brick with sandstone dressings painted black. Slate roof. Long linear plan on north-south axis. EXTERIOR: single storey plus attics; 7 bays, the sixth having a flight of external steps to a loft doorway and all the others having wide round-headed arches with board doors, the first 5 in a continuous arcade with low piers which have moulded imposts, and arches with plain surrounds and keystones, and the seventh in matching style. 4 circular pitching holes over the arcade and another to the left of the seventh arch. Left end attached to west wing of Bold Arms Hotel (qv), with which it forms a group. INTERIOR: not inspected.
