SJ3288NW MARKET STREET 789-1/13/102 (West side) Nos.29-47 (Odd) with brick building to rear

GV II

Row of shops. c1840. Ashlar-faced with shallow Welsh slate roofs, partially renewed with tile. 2 storeys, the units of variable widths between 1 and 3 windows. Inserted shop fronts, one late C19, with moulded consoles each side of renewed fascia. Upper windows are 12-pane sashes with continuous sill band. Moulded cornice and parapet over, with raised blocking course at each end and centrally. End wall stacks. 3-storeyed brick building (un-numbered) to rear, 2-window range, 3 sashes with glazing bars survive with altered shop front with cornice over window and door; another door with enlarged window over, to left.
