SD31NW PROMENADE 664-1/1/159 (West side) Shelter opposite Albany Road

Shelter. Probably c1900. Manufactured by David King & Son, Glasgow, supplied by William Robson, Ironmonger, Southport. Cast-iron and glass with lead-clad roof. H-plan structure under rectangular roof. Single storey. Cast-iron columns with crocket capitals, foliated brackets to roof; dado of solid panels; glazed screens with iron glazing bars radiating in the overlights; swept roof. Wooden slatted benches in the side and end bays.
The shelters on the Promenade collectively form a group.
