Water pump. 1873 by George Child for Major J.E. Grubbe, mayor.
Cast-iron. Triangular section. Plinth with embossed crest to west side with inscription `Defend thy Rights'; east side with `Erected 1873 / J.E. Grubbe, Mayor'; south side `Pro Bono / Publico / G.E. Child / Fecit'. Spout in form of a herring. Tapering upper shaft with cast-iron handle. 3 herrings at apex support wrought-iron bracket with globe lantern.
