SW 98 SE ST ENDELLION ROSE HILL, (north side), Port Isaac 9/124 No 11 (The Birdcage) 6.6.69 GV II House. Circa early to mid C19. Built by Valentine Powell Richards. Rendered and painted stone rubble, partly slate-hung above ground floor with thicker stone rubble walls on the more exposed seaward sides. Slate polygonal hipped roof.

1-room polyogonal plan with sides of unequal length.

3 storeys with C20 plank door on east and windows on west overlooking harbour with replacement sash and small casement on ground floor, 12-pane horned sash on first and C19 3/6-hornless sash on third.

Interior with unmoulded C19 ceiling beams, C20 chimney-piece to blocked fireplace on ground floor and narrow softwood C19 stair.

The Birdcage is a rare survival of an unaltered 1-room plan. 3 storey detached house.
