Almshouses. 1866, restored 1981. Local lias stone cut and squared, with Ham stone dressings; asbestos cement slate roof between coped gables with hipped corner; stone ashlar chimney stacks. 'L' plan; 2 storeys, 5 bay elevation to north Street and 3 bay return to New Street. Plinth, band course, gables above all first floor windows; hollow chamfered mullioned windows with square labels having horizontal bar casements,2-light above and 3 light below, with extra lower window between bays 4 and 5, North Street, and between each bay on north Street elevation; to bay 3 in North Street chamfered doorway with flat arched head and square label, and large boarded door, no window or gable over, but there are two plaques giving original and restoration dates. Interiors not seen. In an important corner position with considerable streetscape value. The almshouses built by Mrs Sophie Scott Gould of North Curry as 6 dwellings for widows and single women.
