GV II

House in row. Late C18, modified and extended in C19. Ham stone ashlar facade, cut and squared elsewhere; probably a Welsh slate roof of shallow pitch hidden behind parapet; brick chimney stacks. Two storeys, 4 bays, of which bay 1 is of a different build. Plinth, eaves, cornice, plain shallow parapet with thin coping: composite sash windows of 4+8+4 panes, the bottom glazing bars removed from the upper windows and lower bay 1; the lower bays 2 + 4 windows are 12-pane sashes in keystoned architraves: to lower bay 3 a 6-panel door in architrave, up 6 steps, protected by open timber porch with metal bell-hip roof. Interior not seen. About 3m north of the house an ashlar wall on rubble base, with plinth and thin coping, upsweeps at ends, averaging 1.5m high, no central gate; adding to the setting of the house and to the streetscene.
