GV II*

Terrace of 5 houses, built as a single development. c1750. Brick with plain tiled roofs. 3-storeyed, each of identical plan, mirrored through the row, 3-window range with outer doorway. Segmentally-arched doorways in heavy moulded architraves with side lights forming Palladian composition, the 6-panelled doors largely recessed with panelled rebates (apparently a later modification). Variable detailing on the doorways, including incised decoration to architrave of No.21, a pedimented case to No.20, and stained-glass leaded side lights in Nos 22 & 23. Sash windows, the original form of 12-paned lights surviving in some units, though replaced in others. Mullioned and transomed French windows with latticed cast-iron balcony inserted in early C19 to first floor of No.21. Wood modillion eaves cornice, axial stacks. INTERIOR: some original staircases and panelling survive.
