3/81 The Old Post Office - and attached smithy and Nos.1 and 2 Uffington

GV II

House and attached smithy and cottages. Late C18 with mid-C19 alterations and additions. Red brick; tiled roof; stack to rear. House in centre has 2-storey intentionally symmetrical front, 2 inset windows (formerly 3 windows, centre now bricked-in); segmental-headed cross-casements, similar on the ground floor, flanked by smaller windows; central entrance with round arch to fanlight and C20 panelled door. Single-storey smithy to left, hipped at end and with dormer left of centre, 4 segmental-headed openings, doors to ends and windows between, the right-hand is a high- level stable window. Cottages adjoin to right of 4 dormer windows and centre stack, 2 segmental-headed casements to ground floor and 2 boarded doors; forms a cohesive composition with the larger house to centre.
