5/7 Mergate Hall Cottages.
GV II Pair of cottages; probably a single Lobby-Entrance type farmhouse origin- ally. Circa 1700 and later. Rendered brick and clay lump with pantiled roof. Single storey with attic. Mainly C20 fenestration. One sloping dormer with C18 or C19 casements with horizontal glazing bars. Full-length lean-to to rear. Off-centre axial stack with winding stair to either side. Butt-purlin roof. Small adjoining C19 block in colour-washed brick.
Included for group value with Mergate Hall and "The Dower House".
