SE 76 NW WELBURN A64 (south side) 5/116 Welburn Lodge

II House. c1860 with C20 alteration and C20 extension to right. Squared sandstone with sandstone ashlar quoins; slate roof. Road side: single storey and attic, 2-bay front, cross gabled to left and with lean-to to right. Entrance door in left return front in steeply gabled timber-frame porch on sandstone plinth. 4-light canted bay with chamfered mullions and transoms beneath cross gable to left of 2-light mullion and transom half dormer. 2-centred arched light to lean-to. All window openings are quoined. Trefoil light to apex of gable. End right stack to steeply- pitched roof. Rear: 3-light mullion and transom windows beneath 2-centred relieving arches to ground floor. Centre ridge stack. C20 extension not of special interest.
