SIMONBURN B 6318 NY 87 SW 809711 (North side, off) 8/110 Lime kiln, 800 metres west of Town Shields Farmhouse II

Disused lime kiln. Early C19. Snecked sandstone with squared dressings.

Large 2-cell kiln built partly into bankside. Battered front and return walls with squared quoins. Each cell has a tall pointed opening and 2 segmental- arched pots on rear wall.
