Crucible steel melting shop, now a store. c1890, with late C20 alterations. For Huntsman & Co. Brick with lean-to corrugated asbestos roof. Crucible stack on rear wall. Single storey. Windows are segment-headed unglazed wooden cross casements with bars. Left bay projects under a catslide roof and has inserted double garage doors. In the return angle, 2 windows. To right, main block has segment-headed door with overlight and to right, 2 windows. Right return has a blocked door. Rear has metal reinforcing bands and ends of tie rods to the stack.

INTERIOR has 12 melting holes, now infilled, and wooden roof trusses carried on iron corbels. The company for whom this shop was built was associated with Benjamin Huntsman, inventor of the crucible steel making process.
