Description

In the Laing register, 'for J. H. Roe' is recorded next to this negative.

In October 1976, Degremont Laing Ltd won the contract for the construction of a new industrial water treatment plant at Coryton Oil Refinery. The £2m treatment plant used more sophisticated technology to supply water to the refinery's main boiler feed. The main treatment plant was a demineralisation unit which removed ions from the water, while an adjacent condensate treatment plant recycled water recovered from steam in the refinery.
