The annual Christmas party for the children of Laing employees was held on 29th December 1989 at the Laing Sports Club Clubhouse at Rowley Lane. The party was for children aged 4-7 years, with music, magic and games. A traditional afternoon tea was followed by a visit from Father Christmas. In the evening, a disco and buffet was held for children aged 7-14 years. A similar photograph was published in the February 1990 edition of 'Team Spirit', the Laing employee newsletter.
