Description

A view of the eastern side of Trafalgar Square, with Morley's Hotel and the statue of King George IV on horseback, in the foreground. The hotel was demolished in the 1930's. The statue of King George IV was by Sir Francis Chantrey and erected in Trafalgar Square in 1844. Pedestrians walk in the square next to one of the fountains jut visible on the right side of the photograph, whilst horses and carts are seen on the road in front of the hotel.
