Description

The original caption may contain language which is historic and which may no longer be considered appropriate. It has been retained in the record in the interest of historical accuracy.

The caption on the reverse of the photograph reads: “Hospital at Pressed Steel Company, Oxford. The exterior of the hospital at the works of the Pressed Steel Company, Oxford.”

Health services did not always meet the needs of industry; specialist services, mostly voluntary and provided by the employer were established at some industrial sites, and industrial medical officers were often employed.
