Description

The attack on York was part of the Baedecker Raids, a series of raids which targeted historic cities. 92 people were killed in York, and many others injured.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-12 Red Box Project.

Reverse reads 'Date received 18.6.42'.
