Description

The back of the print identifies the fireplace as being in the Victoria Hotel but does not given a specific room. In 'The Buildings of England, Gloucestershire: The Vale and the Forest of Dean' by David Verey (1988) an 18th century fireplace and overmantel is mentioned as being located in the dining room.

The hotel was closed in 2007.

Archival History

This photograph was withdrawn from the open Red Box Collection for conservation reasons during the 2011-2012 Red Box Project.

The photograph was accessioned on 9th August 1967.
