The handwritten caption beneath this image reads:
"Grammar school for girls West Hartlepool County Durham 1961. Assembly Hall over cloakrooms and classrooms built as first phase of complete rebuilding."
The school building was demolished around 1985. A primary school, Eldon Grove Academy, was built in a position slightly further south from where the school originally stood.
