Description

The post office is an early 19th century building with two storeys with an attic and basement, and five bays. The central three of which project forward slightly and are capped with a wide pediment. In the centre of the ground floor is the entrance, with doric columns supporting a porch with pediment, and a set of steps leading up from the street level. To the left is a segmental arch leading to a passage at the side of the building. The first floor windws are topped with alternating segmental and triangular pediments, and in the wide pediment are two small attic windows. On either side are lower three storey buildings with shop front on the ground floor, and in the foreground is the corner of Fenkle Street and Clayport Street, with a three storey building with shop front.
