Description

Views of 'Friction Match', an artwork by Stamatis Zografos, Eva Bachmann and Uli Gamper commemorating John Walker of Stockton-on-Tees (1781-1859) who accidentally discovered the friction match in 1826. This was a winning design in response to Historic England’s Immortalised: A Design Competition. It was displayed at the ‘Immortalised’ exhibition held at The Workshop, Lambeth High Street, Lambeth, Greater London, from 12 August to 16 September 2018.
