187 sheets of drawings, mostly showing proposals for new buildings and work to existing buildings at the Institute (renamed AFRC Institute of Engineering Research in 1986 and the Silsoe Research Institute in 1991), drawn by a number of different draughtsmen including Peter Ferguson, S C Bevis, M W Gutteridge, G B Harris and P R Ralph between 1967 and 1992, but also including some copies of building design drawings made by the Charter Building Design Group between 1967 and 1972, and odd sheets by Feilden and Mawson architects, and contractors including Aqua, Brian S Thomas Ltd, Briggs and Forrester, SDC Survey, Design and Construction, Drake Scull, Robert Somerville Associates and Hills Electrical.
There is also a single copy of a sheet by Frank Osborne and Tomkins showing generic semi-detached housing, and a single sheet produced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food showing Bedford College Farm.
The most recent sheets are as installed electrical drawings by Cousins Electrical Ltd from 1996.
