The series was probably created as a record of the farm and as an aerial survey of experimental crop growth progress. The photographs include views of the neighbouring villages of Boxworth, Knapwell and Childerley. Most of the photographs run annually from the 1980s to the late 1990s and were taken for the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food and the Agricultural Development Advisory Service . There are also some earlier images taken by the RAF dating from 1953.
The series was acquired by the Historic England Archive in 2025.
