In April 2002, English Heritage collaborated with the Boltby Millennium Group to carry out an analytical field survey of a probable medieval maorial complex surviving as earthworks on the edge of the village of Boltby in North Yorkshire. The investigation formed part of a broader project, initiated and coordinated by the Boltby Millennium Gruop and funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund through the Local Heritage Initiative scheme, which aimed to advance the understanding of the history of the village and its environs.
