Description

An album of photographs by Bedford Lemere and Company containing 100 pages and 46 prints. 54 prints are missing or removed. The photographs show interior and exterior views on the ship taken in 1907 shortly after her completion. They include views of the ship at dock, views on deck and group portraits of the crew etc., The interior views show the communal passenger rooms, passenger cabins, kitchens, control rooms and engine rooms. One view of a dining room occurs three times in different formats. Most of the prints have no Bedford Lemere series numbers, but are numbered on the print with a running number relating to page numbers in the album. Two prints have the Bedford Lemere series number BL20182 on the reverse and it has been assumed that all the prints are from this series. Copy negatives have been produced for a number of the prints.
