Description

An album containing 44 sepia photographs of London taken in the nineteenth century and dating mainly from the 1870s. The majority show buildings, statues and street scenes in Westminster and the City of London. The title page is hand written in calligraphic pen. Three of the photographs were taken by identified professional photographers, G W Wilson and F G O Stuart, but all are of high quality. There are two copy negatives of of the photograph on page 19, Covent Garden Market.

Page 45 is titled 'Modern Times', but has had two photographs torn from the page. The following pages are empty until the last 5 pages, which have drawings of boats and planes.
