Description

A file containing 10 photographs depicting the F W Woolworth and Co store on St James Street, Brighton. Known as Woolworths store number 292, this was the two-hundred and ninety-second branch of Woolworths to open in the British Isles, in 1927. It was the third store to open in Brighton, the others being store 73 on Western Road and store 288 on London Road. The store originally opened at 27-28 St James Street and was extended in the 1950s to include number 26. The store closed in 1986.
