Parnham House, Beaminster - Dorset (UA)

Picturesque C16 country house, altered in 1810 by Nash and remodelled in early C20. Following a catastrophic fire in 2017 the roof and internal structure were largely destroyed leaving the external shell in a very fragile state, most of it unprotected. Plans to use Parnham as a hospitality venue have been under discussion since 2020 and approval has been granted for several associated developments in its grounds. The west wing has been repaired and it is hoped that emergency protection will be provided to the remainder of the house shortly whilst proposals for full restoration are prepared.
