Battle of Boroughbridge, Boroughbridge / Langthorpe / Milby - North Yorkshire Council (UA)
Thomas Earl of Lancaster's 1322 revolt against Edward II ended with defeat as his army attempted to retreat north and cross the River Ure. Much of the battlefield lies under modern Boroughbridge and there is further pressure for expansion north of the river.
