The Old Rectory, Claypit Street, Whitchurch Urban - Shropshire (UA)
This C18 former rectory was used as a listening station during World War II. Urgent works were previously undertaken to make the main roof weatherproof but until recently the service wing remained in very poor condition, being badly affected by differential settlement. Section 106 contributions secured for the repair of the building enabled a scheme of underpinning and other works to be largely completed in 2019. The building was sold at the beginning of 2020 and the new owner is exploring options for the creation of a respite facility for military veterans.
