Base of windmill at Mill House, Windmill Road - Merton

Brick with timber framing comprising the base of a hollow-post windmill, now located in the car park of a public house. Extensive works were undertaken in the 2010s to preserve the timbers which were reinstated, but the structure remained at risk without a protective cover. A lack of maintenance and neglect have since led to major overgrowth of ivy, bramble, and woody shrubs with maturing saplings of large trees taking hold, threatening to disrupt supporting walls and railings. Unauthorised signage has been attached to the walls and brickwork is eroding, requiring repair and repointing.
