Pair of bastles, north-west of the Green at Chesterwood, Haydon Bridge, Haydon - Northumberland (UA)
The site consists of the scheduled remains of four defended farmhouses dating from between 1575 and 1650. Those to the south and west of the Green have recently been repaired and converted to residential use. The pair to the far north-west of the Green are not actively used and are deteriorating. There are areas of loose, unstable and open-jointed stone walling and a bulge on the west gable. The tin roof of the eastern bastle had to be dismantled due to health and safety concerns during periods of high winds.
