Former stables to Stover House, Stover, Teigngrace - Teignbridge

Built as stables, 1779. The stables were stripped out when they were superseded by a larger stable block in 1843, and were converted to a magnificent backdrop to the newly laid out gardens for the 11th Duke of Somerset. They are a key feature of Stover's grade II designed landscape. Now in very bad condition due to the spread and distortion of single ashlar front, rusting cramps, and water and vegetation damage. Currently fenced off. Repairs are being discussed as part of a wider improvement scheme to the adjoining park.
