HOO CHARSFIELD ROAD TM 25 NE (East side) 5/72 Godwins Place - 8.4.88 - II
House. C16 with C17 additions. Timber-framed with colourwashed brick skin and a plain tile roof. Two storeys with attic. Entrance front: projecting wing at right with tri-partite sash window to the ground floor and another to first floor and a 2-light attic window. In the re-entrant angle between this and the axial range is a canted bay which forms the entrance porch, built of C19 brick with a shallow-pitched roof of lead and to left of this is a further C19 canted bay with a central tri-partite window to ground and first floor levels and further similar windows to the left hand angle. Two-light window to right of this at ground floor level and a similar window to the first floor. To the ground floor at left of the canted bay are a 3-light and a 2-light casement. To the ridge of the axial range is a 2-flue C19 brick stack rebuilt in the C19 at right of centre and to the right hand projecting wing is a ridge chimney stack. Right hand side: two tri-partite ground floor sash windows and two 2-light first floor casements. Rear: gabled wing at left with a central stack of 2 flues and one single-light attic window to left of this. At right of this are a sash window at left of 3x3 panes, a doorway at left of centre and at right of this two 2-light and one 3-light casements. The first floor has a 3-light and two 2-light casements. Interior: No timbers apparent.
