LEE BROCKHURST C.P. LEE BRIDGE SJ 52 NW 11/6 Lee Bridge (that part in Lee Brockhurst C.P.) GV II Bridge. 1800. Red sandstone ashlar. Single segmental arch with facing ring consisting of chamfered, rusticated voussoirs (continued to soffit) and raised keystones; flanking pilaster buttresses; string course to parapet, raised to centre; wing walls curving out to octagonal end piers with pyramidal caps. The bridge formerly carried the Shrewsbury to Whitchurch turnpike road across the River Roden but has now been by-passed. Anthony Blackwall, Historic Bridges of Shropshire (1985), p.35.
