Chest tomb and 7 headstones. Limestone. a) Chest tomb to Richard -------, died 17--. Moulded plinth. Raised inscription panel on the south side with an illegible inscription panel. Unused inscription panels at either end; quarter balusters at each corner. Capping with moulded margin. b)-d) Three small late C17-early C18 headstones clm to the north- west of the preceding. Single cherubs' heads at the top of three headstones, two are decorated with swags in addition. The central headstone has flowers in bold relief and an oval inscription panel with a raised margin. e) Double headstone c2m west of the chest tomb with an illegible double inscription panel. Bell flower motif hangs from a skull between the two panels. Hanging drapery and single bell flower over each inscription panel. f) Double headstone c2m west of the preceding, date 1714 visible on the left-hand inscription panel. Hanging fruit and flowers between the inscription panels, hanging drapery around the inscription panels; bust of a man and woman each with one hand holding open a single bible. Unusual design. g) & h) Two headstones in a row of three c3m south of the door to the porch. Early C18. Small headstone at the centre of the row with no legible inscription; cherub's head with finely carved hands; hanging fruit and flowers either side of the inscription panel. Carving in almost 3-dimensional relief. Larger headstone to the right. Mid C18. Four cherubs' heads at the top, hanging drapery, fruit and flowers either side. Detail of carving rather eroded. i) Headstone c3m south of f). Early C18. Partially legible inscription. Carved woman's head with head dress at the top. Hands holding bible open below. Scrolls either side; flowers and drapery below. j) Headstone c4m south of a). Early C18. No legible inscription. Winged cherub's head holding bible festoon and hanging drapery. A good group of varied designs in the local vigorous tradition.
