TL 11 SW HARPENDEN RURAL KINSBOURNE GREEN LANE (south east side)
5/103 Main barn at Harpendenbury Farm 23.7.79 (formerly listed as Barn about 80 yards SW of Harpendenbury GV farnhouse).
Large monastic barn. C15 or early C16. Aisled construction. Crown post roof. Weatherboarded. Plain tile roof. The ends are half hipped with gablets. 2 recessed porches on E side. C20 single storey extension on S. 7 bays. Square crown posts with curved longtitudinal braces to the collar purlin. Tie beams have slightly curved braces to shouldered principals. Aisles have shouldered wall posts with passing braces to principals. End walls have mid height rails with tension braces above.
