4/154 North Lodges to Stockgrove Park and attached gates and gatepiers

GV II

Lodges, gates and gatepiers. c1930 by W Curtis Green. Red brick with limestone dressings. Half-hipped plain-tile roofs to lodges and tall brick ridge stacks with stone caps. Lodges have double-depth plan, and one storey and attic. Lodges and gates form a crescent with symmetrical lodges either side of principal gates. Gable ends of lodges face road with long sides facing drive. Pair of 12-pane sash window to ground floor of front gable ends of each lodge recessed in round-arched surrounds which are pointed within; 24-pane sash to 1st floor centre below half hip. Subsidiary features: Wrought-iron double-leaf gates and brick piers with moulded stone caps joined to lodges by stone-coped walls with curved railings.
