3/36 Ansty Water Farmhouse

II

Detached house. Late C17. Coursed dressed limestone, thatched roof, gable end C20 limestone stacks. Gable end to road. 2- storey and attic, 3-window front, formerly rear. C20 door inserted into former 2-light mullioned window opening; lintel retained, flat wooden hood on brackets, to left is 2-light and 1-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows. First floor has two 2-light recessed chamfered mullioned windows. Roof has coped verges. Rear, formerly front has blocked central door with C20 tiled porch and C20 casement, either side is 3-light recessed chamfered mullioned window with hoodmould and small 1-light fire window to right, first floor has two 3-light mullioned windows, C20 dormer to roof. Right return has 1-light and 2-light mullioned window with hoodmould to attic. Left return has 2-light mullioned window to attic. Interior has chamfered beam with step and runout stops, open fireplace with chamfered lintel with runout stops on stone jambs. Attached to left of front is single-storey range with planked door and 3-light casement, thatched roof. Undergoing extensive renovation at time of survey (February 1985).
