16/133 Bridge over Howick Burn 150 metres south-east of Howick Hall, with attached churchyard wall GV II
Bridge with attached churchyard wall and gateway. Late C18 or early C19. Squared tooled stone with ashlar dressings and rock-faced voussoirs. Bridge has round arch and band beneath parapet, which has centre 3-bay balustraded section and panelled end parts; shaped square balusters and low-pitched moulded handrail; end pilasters. Churchyard wall attached to south end of west parapet has coping swept up to join square gatepiers with banded pyramidal caps.
Attached rubble wall 10 metres south of gateway is not of special interest.
