Details
1. 5141 HELPSTON GLINTON ROAD (south side) Railway Goods shed about 250 yds south-east of Helpston Crossing TF 10 NW 3/292 16.2.81 II 2. Mid/late C19. Goods shed built by Midland Railway on the Syston and Peterborough line which was opened in 1846. Red brick with stone dressings. Slate roof with gabled ends. The eaves at the roof are extended at front and rear and supported on large cast iron shaped brackets. Two storeys. 1:2:2:1 windows. Small windows with rusticated round arches. Three ground floor doorways on each side with first floor door above. The upper doorways on the south-west side have platforms with balustrades on large shaped cast iron brackets. Three bay ends with circular lourvred ventilator in gable.
