8/50 Herbert Arms Hotel -
GV II
House, now inn. Late C18 with later additions and alterations. Painted brick; slate roof and external end stacks with tops re-built in late C19 red brick. L-plan with short range to rear on right; single-storey addition (possibly former stables) to right. 3 storeys, toothed eaves cornice; 3 wide bays, segmental-headed glazing bar sashes with 2 windows to centre on ground and first floors. Central entrance, plain wooden doorcase with 4-panel door (top panels now glazed). Late C20 flat- roofed brick porch to right corner abutting C19 single-storey addition is not of special architectural interest. Single-storey addition has two C20 casements, moulded brick eaves cornice and coped verges on brick kneelers to right gable end.
