Details
THORPE IN BALNE HIGHFIELD LANE SE 61 SW (south side), Trumfleet 5/123 Barn approximately 20 metres to south-west of Manor Farmhouse II Barn. Early-mid C18, altered. Rubble stone plinth to red brick in English garden wall bond, pantile roof. 2 storeys, 5-6 bays. East side (partly within later shed) has one double boarded door and 2 other doorways on its left. 1st-floor door to right of centre, hatch to its right; triangular vents. Cogged eaves to steeply-pitched roof with raised verges. West side: near-central horizontally-sliding door; large tractor entrance inserted on right with C19 iron casement and 1st-floor doorway beyond; triangular vents and three 1st-floor hatches. Right return: initials 'TS' on iron tie plates.
Interior: hybrid roof with some old tie beams and later queen-post trusses; old rafters pegged at ridge. Other attached farmbuildings not of special interest.
