(formerly listed as Stable building at Rosedale Abbey)

Stable buildings; now part cafe, part disused. Early C19, incorporating
earlier buildings; part demolished and part rebuilt c1982. Sandstone, some
roughly-dressed, some hammer-dressed, some herringbone-tooled; pale brick
arches; concrete pantile roof. 1 3-storey arch to centre flanked by
single-storey ranges, with 1 3-storey projecting cross wing to right.
Semicircular brick arch to centre blocked by C20 door in screen wall. Over
arch is a round-headed opening with a stone sill which originally contained
a compass face connected to a gable end weather-vane, now gone. Compass
replaced by a clockface dated 1982. Cross wing: 2 segmental cart arches of
brick, blocked by a board door to right, and 4-paned window to left. Part-
glazed lifting door to loft above, beneath a divided fanlight in a round
arch. Single-storey ranges: windows are 2-light, large-pane horizontal-
sliding sashes with stone sills and renewed lintels. All gables are coped.
