Terraced town houses. c.1770-80. Portland Estate development. Stock brick (No. 6 stuccoed) with rusticated stucco ground floor; tiled roofs, the houses grouped as 2 pairs and half of former pair with recessed links. 4 storeys and dormered mansards, on basements. 3-window wide fronts with one window links. Doorways adjoining in each pair, wide semicircular arched; Nos. 2 and 3 with mid C.19 pedestalled pilaster frames added carrying archivolts with keystones; Nos. 5 and 6 with vermiculated rustication and voussoirs; No. 5 has panelled door recessed for one order with radial loop patterned fanlight; No. 6 has flush panelled door with engaged Doric columns supporting projecting doorhead and plain fanlight; Nos. 2 to 4 have panelled doors with pilaster jambs and side lights, moulded doorheads and inscribed fanlights. c.1900 tripartite ground floor windows in architraves with cornices to Nos. 2 and 3. Otherwise recessed sashes, under flat gauged red brick arches with stucco reveals to upper floors. Plat band finishes off stuccowork at 1st floor level; Nos. 5 and 6 have brick plat band over 1st floor; plat band with stone cyma capping as main cornice over 2nd floor; parapets with stone copings. Early to mid C.19 continuous 1st floor balconies on stucco consoles or cast iron brackets with ornate cast iron scroll or geometric pattern rails. Cast iron area railings with flambé vase finials, No. 3 and Nos. 5 and 6 with lampstandards flanking paired flights of steps. Interiors not inspected.
