Cottage 12M south of The 7/37 Rancliffe Arms (formerly listed aS Farmhouse with Dovecote incorporated in 14.9.73 it, at the Rancliffe Arms)

Barn and pigeoncote, now cottage. Early C18. Designed by and built for Sir Thomas Parkyns of Bunny Hall. Red brick, Plain tile roof. 2 red brick gable stacks. Brick coped gables with kneelers. Raised eaves band. Base is splayed out. 2 storeys, 4 bays. Blocked doorway with overlight under a segmental arch. To the left is a single blocked window opening, further left and right are single C20 canted blocked windows. Above are 3 C20 casements, that in the centre being smaller. The left gable wall is corbelled out on the first floor and has 17 rows of entrances for birds and flight perches. Sir Thomas Parkyns Bart. (c.1662- 1741) carried out improvements to and rebuilt almost all of Bunny to his own designs.
